One week. Real coaching detail.
This is Week 1 from the Ages 7–9 (U8–U10) 20-week plan—enough to judge the writing quality. The full paid packages include all 20 weeks, parent meetings, offensive sets, and rotations.
Week 1: Ball Is My Friend
Foundations phase · Season weeks 1–5 emphasize stance, ball, pass, shoot, and defend.
“Learning to love the ball starts with daily touches.”
Warm-up 5–10 min
- Jog baselines + high knees + butt kicks (2 min)
- Ball each: stationary pound dribbles right / left (2 min)
- Tag game with ball protected (3 min)
Skill Stations / Drills 25–40 min
Rotate stations every 6–7 minutes:
- Ball-handling: Pound dribbles (waist / knee / ankle), wrap-arounds seated, figure-8 standing.
- Passing wall or partner: Chest and bounce—step to pass, thumbs down finish.
- Finishing: One-step right-hand layups from the block (focus on footwork, not speed).
Coaching cues: Eyes up when possible; soft hands; celebrate effort reps.
Team Concept / Scrimmage 15–25 min
- 3-on-3 half court: no steals off the dribble for the first 5 minutes (teach offense).
- Then live.
Cool-down / Teaching Point 5 min
- Circle stretch + each player shares one thing they did well.
- Teaching point: Ball security starts with two hands on the catch.
How coaches use the full plan
Run 2–3 practices per week; repeat the weekly theme across sessions. Keep water breaks short (every 20–25 min). If you only have 60 minutes, trim scrimmage first—not skill fundamentals. Pair with the Offensive Sets document on install weeks.
